What Bailey Has Taught Me
It’s hard to believe it’s been four weeks already since we first arrived to care for this beautiful black furry friend. The time we’ve spent with Bailey has been an absolute treasure, the best gift ever. Right now it’s nearing time to leave and my heart is wrenching with a longing to stay. It’s hard to think about going back home. Wait, could home be where a dog is? With all my heart I believe so.
I’ve been searching for an elusive missing piece to my life’s puzzle. Ever find yourself searching for contentment or peace or joy? Bailey has taught me that even when we don’t speak the language, our behavior can bridge our worlds with little to no effort. He consistently communicates his happiness at going for a walk, his over-the-top excitement at chasing a ball we’ve thrown for him and his playful antics when he manages to have two balls and plays keep-away.
He has the innate ability to live in the moment, to enjoy and be satisfied with the simple things in life. Most dogs have an unconditional love that oozes from them and Bailey is no different. Bailey has a personality that says “Hey I’m having a party, ya wanna come? Let’s Play.”
Imagine a world where we all lived and acted like this pooch and his friends.
I really feel like Bailey has taught me how to slow down and enjoy what’s right in front of me. Savor the moment. Breathe.
……..and now I want to go dig a hole.

Someone is going to need a bath! :-)
He will miss you for sure☺️
