Proud parents sharing daughter's link
OK, we are taking a quick break from all our travel posts to share some exciting news from our daughter Courtney. She will be taking part in a fundraising hike next month through The Enchantments, a beautiful alpine wilderness in central Washington State.
The Enchantments are one of the best hiking memories Shannon has because of the hike she did there soon after we first met in 1998.
And in the photo above is Courtney at the top of Storm King, (a sort of similar but really not so much) hike near her hometown on the Olympic Peninsula. And here’s her announcement we recently received about the fundraiser. (and please, feel free to donate if you have the means, to help her support this great cause!)
Hello everyone!
I just jumped in on an amazing opportunity to hike the Enchantments with some wonderful women next month! They are part of a group called Freedom Hikers, and are trying to raise awareness/funding to help fight sex trafficking. Since I joined in on this group I got my own URL to the fundraiser website to help donate to this cause, so just sending it out!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled, somewhat intermittent programming…

Lovely daughter and project. You might not know that two of our three kids, as well as ourselves, were frequent biking fund raisers for Breathe California which emerged in the Sacramento area out of the American Lung Association and helped pass laws regarding about smoking and rice field burning.
In their biggest fundraising 1000 miles bike trek we raised thousands of dollars.
So go Courtney! Keep climbing. Hope our contribution helps and many others will join in.
