And Just Like That...
It's all a memory (well, most of it - read on...)
It’s amazing to think that we can wake up in the morning in Europe and then just a few (well okay, TWENTY ONE!) hours later be tucking ourselves in at a hotel in Seattle. But that’s exactly what we did. And although it was only 8:00 pm local time, our bodies were still on Amsterdam time and thought it was 4:00 am, so falling asleep wasn’t difficult. (Staying asleep, well that’s a different story, but we take what we can get).
Next morning, a bit of a culinary crawl to a nearby restaurant with big American portions (no, we did not eat it all) and big American prices (yes, we did pay for it all). And fully satisfied, we set about figuring out how to get to the ferry.
Turns out there was a Seattle Metro bus stop only 2 blocks from the hotel and happily, just as we arrived at the stop, the bus pulled up (giving me no time to snap a photo of it), and took us to King Street Station in downtown Seattle where we could catch an Amtrak train to Mount Vernon…
…where we could catch a Skagit Transit bus to Anacortes…
…which would take us to the ferry…
…which would bring us back home to Rigby.
And we have an announcement to make: We had such a good time on that pet-sitting gig and we realized there was an empty place in our lives, so lo and behold, just a couple days after our return, we have a new addition...
Congratulations are in order - our little bundle of joy has arrived...
It’s not just the two of us anymore (and we’re not sure Rigby is big enough for our growing family)…
Big reveal coming…
Wait for it…
